Forum News!

Gosh, things sure are happening quickly!  Hot on the heels of jumping in and starting this blog, Amanda and I have decided to start up a Forum too  8O

 http://changeyourlifechangetheworld.freeforums.org/index.php

We hope you will take the plunge and join; every journey starts with those first few steps and wherever we may be on our own particular paths, we all have something to offer to others.

We thought that a forum would perhaps be a more convenient place for folk to meet up and exchange hints, tips and ideas.  Although we have started the ball rolling with various categories and forums, we hope you will join in with your ideas and hopefully we will soon have plenty of discussions taking place  :)

We can all change our lifestyles to one degree or another in order to tread more lightly on this planet ~ our collective home ~ and we can start from where ever we may currently find ourselves; we do not believe that you need a high income or to be living in the depths of the countryside surrounded by acres of land.  Taking “baby steps” to lessen the impact we make in our day-to-day lives is the perfect starting-off point.  We have found that the more we do, the more we want to do.  The important bit is to actually start the “doing”

So come along to the Forum and join in.  We wholeheartedly believe that by changing our own lives, we can truly change the world…..

Welcome!

Well, I expect you will have read our “about” page ~ I hope so, anyway!  It is short and sweet, and to the point, so I thought that it would be helpful to expand a little on who we are.

So, where to begin?  We are two forty-something sisters ~ Sharon (I am the eldest) and Amanda.  We live very near to each other, in small towns north of London.  I am a stay-at-home wife, and mother to almost-17-year-old twins; Amanda shares a home with a friend, decided not to have children but is a fantastic Auntie, and has a number of strings to her working bow!

We are ordinary women; we have very modest housekeeping budgets, we look after our own homes and Amanda in particular leads a very busy life.

In recent years, we have both become more and more aware of the impact we are having on the environment.  We have also come to the realisation that to change the way in which we live is down to each one of us as individuals ~ we cannot simply rely on someone else changing things for us, we have to be there doing our bit as well.  As a species, humans are doing immense damage to our collective home, planet earth, as well as to the local environments in which we live.  There comes a point at which we as individuals need to take responsibility for our own actions.  Amanda and I have both now reached the point where we strongly feel that it is time for us to stop talking the talk and instead start walking the walk.

Welcome to our personal journey towards living more ethically ~ we hope you will feel inspired to start your own journey…..
